Juan Nicasio won't start for Pirates on Tuesday
Pittsburgh Pirates general manager Neal Huntington said that Juan Nicasio will not make his next scheduled start Tuesday versus the New York Mets.
This could lead to another Jameson Taillon showing on Tuesday, but after throwing 44 pitches in relief on Friday and giving up six runs, Nicasio will be pushed back. Nothing is official, and it has a lot to do with whether Gerrit Cole goes on the disabled list, so stay tuned.
Through 59 innings pitched Nicasio has an ERA of 5.34 and a WHIP of 1.44 in 2016. Our models project him to post a 4.74 ERA and a 20.6 strike out rate over 78 innings remaining this season.
