Toronto adds Scott Diamond to bullpen
The Toronto Blue Jays purchased the contract of pitcher Scott Diamond from Triple-A Buffalo.
Diamond will join Toronto's bullpen ahead of Monday's series opener against the Philadelphia Phillies. The southpaw posted a 3.16 ERA and a 37/14 K/BB ratio across 74 innings this season at Triple-A Buffalo. He last pitched in the big leagues in 2013.
Diamond started 24 games in 2013 and he posted a 4.71 ERA and a poor 9.0 strikeout percentage in 131 innings pitched that season. He's pitched as a starter this season as well, and recorded a 3.16 ERA (3.46 FIP) and a 12.5 strikeout percentage in 74 innings in Triple-A.
