White Sox place Austin Jackson (knee) on disabled list

The Chicago White Sox placed outfielder Austin Jackson on the 15-day disabled list with a medial meniscus tear in his right knee.

What It Means:

Jackson had been dealing with a bout of turf toe at the end of May and early June, but this injury is separate from that. As of this posting, there is no timetable for his return. Prior to the injury, the 29-year-old outfielder was hitting .254/.318/.343 with no home runs and 18 RBI's across 203 plate appearances.

Jackson owns a .292 wOBA and his .088 Isolated Power ranks 15th worst among qualified hitters this season. Our models currently project him to hit .252/.315/.369 with six home runs, nine steals, and a .300 wOBA over the remaining course of the season, but he'll likely need a quick return in order to hit those numbers.
