Chris Carter (rest) not in Astros lineup tonight
Chris Carter is not in the Astros lineup. Jon Singleton is starting at first base and batting seventh against the Royals.
It has become a regular occurrence for Carter to sit versus righties. Singleton will have to step it up if wants that to continue. He has a .262 wOBA and -0.22 nERD in 46 plate appearances. Royals starter Jeremy Guthrie is getting clobbered versus lefties to the tune of a .398 wOBA and only strike them out 13.3 percent of the time, which is good news for the strikeout prone Singleton (32.6%).
