Jake Meyers joining Astros bench Friday
Houston Astros outfielder Jake Meyers is not in the lineup for Friday's series opener against left-hander Logan Allen and the Cleveland Guardians.
Meyers will move to the bench for the second time in three games. Chas McCormick will head over to center field while Mauricio Dubon returns to left field and leadoff duty. Jeremy Pena will slide down to the seven-hole after leading off Thursday.
numberFire’s models project McCormick ($2,900) for 9.4 FanDuel points on Friday. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Astros' implied total is 4.02 and the game total is 8.0. Allen has a strong 2.76 ERA, but his 4.30 xERA and 3.93 SIERA suggest it may be misleading. He also has a 23.9% strikeout rate and 6.6% walk rate.
