Pete Alonso (wrist) sidelined Thursday for Mets
New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso (wrist) is not in the lineup for Thursday's series finale against right-hander Spencer Strider and the Atlanta Braves.
Alonso will miss at least one start after injuring his wrist on Wednesday and leaving early. Mark Vientos will fill in on first base and bat ninth. Francisco Lindor will move down a spot to bat cleanup, with Francisco Alvarez hitting second and Jeff McNeil batting third.
Per numberFire's MLB Heat Map, the Mets' implied total is second-lowest of the day at 3.69 and the game total is 8.5. Strider has a stellar 2.63 SIERA and 40.6% strikeout rate this season.
