Matt Chapman cleaning up Monday for Blue Jays
Toronto Blue Jays infielder Matt Chapman will start on third base and bat cleanup versus right-hander Brandon Bielak and the Houston Astros in Monday's series opener.
Chapman will move up a spot while Brandon Belt takes a breather. He hit fifth in his last eight starts. Daulton Varsho will bat fifth on Monday and Whit Merrifield will hit sixth.
Per numberFire's MLB Heat Map, the Blue Jays' implied total is one of the best on the board at 5.04 and the game total is the highest of the day at 10.0. Bielak has a 4.43 SIERA and 21.2% strikeout rate this season, but he's giving up 1.74 homers per nine innings and carrying a 9.1% walk rate.
