Giants sign Chris Denorfia to minor-league contract
The San Francisco Giants signed outfielder Chris Denorfia to a minor-league contract and assigned him to Triple-A Sacramento.
San Francisco also just signed Travis Ishikawa to a minor-league deal. The club is collecting fringe major leaguers who can play the corner outfield in the wake of Hunter Pence's hamstring surgery. Denorfia was released from the New York Yankees at the end of spring training and has spent the last nine weeks as a free agent.
In his last full season, Denorfia slashed .269/.319/.373 through 103 games. He had three homers and 18 RBI's in 212 at-bats in 2015.
