St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Lars Nootbaar (back) is not in the lineup versus right-hander Zack Greinke and the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday.
What It Means:
Nootbaar will be held out after he was pulled from Monday's series opener with a back injury. The Cardinals' next game isn't until Friday, so they can take their time on deciding whether to place Nootbaar on the injured list. Tommy Edman will cover center field on Tuesday while Brendan Donovan will move into the leadoff spot and roll out to right field.
