Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Vince Velasquez was pulled from Wednesday's game in the bottom of the first with an apparent injury.
Velasquez threw just two pitches -- at 86 and 87 miles per hour -- before leaving the field with a trainer. Brett Oberholtzer took over against the visiting Chicago Cubs.
Velasquez has been a really good pitcher this season, recording a 3.49 SIERA and 28.5 percent strikeout rate. Despite their near-.500 start, the rebuilding Phillies figures to be extremely cautious with him.
