George Springer on Blue Jays bench Thursday
Toronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer is not in the lineup versus right-hander Zach Eflin and the Tampa Bay Rays in Thursday afternoon's series finale.
The Blue Jays are giving Springer a breather for the matinee. Brandon Belt will replace Springer at designated hitter and bat cleanup while Bo Bichette will move into the leadoff role. Daulton Varsho will hop up and bat second.
numberFire’s models project Belt ($2,500) for 7.8 FanDuel points on Thursday. Bichette ($3,600) is projected for 11.3 and Varsho ($2,900) is projected for 12.2 FanDuel points. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Blue Jays' implied total is 3.93 and the game total is 8.5. Eflin has twirled a 2.93 xERA with a career-best 28.4% strikeout rate this season.
