Nolan Arenado absent for Cardinals Thursday afternoon
St. Louis Cardinals infielder Nolan Arenado is not in the lineup versus right-hander Luke Weaver and the Cincinnati Reds in Thursday afternoon's series finale.
The Cardinals are giving Arenado and a couple other regulars a breather in Thursday's matinee. Brendan Donovan will shift to third base and bat third while Alec Burleson will take over on first and hit fifth. Juan Yepez will enter the lineup to play left field and hit sixth. Paul DeJong will fill in for Arenado as the Cardinals' cleanup batter.
numberFire’s models project Yepez ($2,400) for 9.4 FanDuel points on Thursday. DeJong ($3,600) is projected for 10.0 FanDuel points. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Cardinals' implied total is second-highest of the day at 5.52 and the game total is 10.0. Weaver has a 6.54 ERA and 1.52 WHIP this season, with a 22.1% strikeout rate and 5.7% walk rate.
