Detroit Tigers outfielder Matt Vierling is not in the lineup versus right-hander Luis Ortiz and the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday.
Vierling will take a seat after four straight hitless outings. Zach McKinstry will shift to right field while Andy Ibanez moves to second base and Nick Maton starts on third. Miguel Cabrera will enter the lineup to serve as the designated hitter and bat seventh.
