Desmond Jennings records three hits in Rays' win

Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Desmond Jennings went 3-for-4 with a homer, a double, two RBI's and a walk to lead the Rays to a 6-4 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday.

What It Means:

Jennings badly needed this. Even after the big game, he's still batting just .189 with a .572 OPS this season, and if the Rays hadn't lost Kevin Kiermaier to injury, one wonders if he might have been let go. With Brandon Guyer also down, there's plenty of playing time available for Jennings. This is a step towards seizing the opportunity.

Jennings is slashing just .189/.257/.315 on the year with a wOBA of .260. We project him to post a wOBA of .274 over the remainder of the season while smacking three more home runs and 19 RBI's.
