Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez underwent an appendectomy on Saturday.
After Jimenez was diagnosed with acute appendicitis, the 26-year old is expected to miss at least four to six weeks while he recovers. Expect Yasmani Grandal to see more at-bats in the designated hitting role while Seby Zavala could see more time behind the plate.
Per Baseball Savant on 69 batted balls this season, Jimenez has accounted for a 13.0% barrel rate and a .240 expected average.
