Angels place Nick Tropeano on disabled list
The Los Angeles Angels placed pitcher Nick Tropeano on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder tightness.
Tropeano's MRI revealed no structural damage, though he won't begin throwing for at least another 4-5 days. Reliever Deolis Guerra was called up from Triple-A Salt Lake in the corresponding move. It's been an absolutely brutal year for the Angels' rotation. C.J. Wilson (shoulder), Andrew Heaney (elbow) and Garrett Richards (elbow) are already on the disabled list and now Tropeano will join them. The Angels haven't announced who will start in his place Tuesday against the Yankees. Mike Scioscia said Tim Lincecum is not a possibility.
In 10 starts this season, Tropeano owns a SIERA of 4.60, and his ERA is a solid 3.25. However, his walk rate has increased a lot in 2016 up to over 11 percent.
