Mets' David Wright (neck) expected to miss four-to-six weeks

New York Mets third baseman David Wright (neck) is expected to be sidelined for at least four-to-six weeks, FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports.

What It Means:

Wright is battling a herniated disc in his neck and will be placed on the disabled list Friday. Whether the injury is related at all to last year's spinal stenosis diagnosis isn't known. Surgery isn't being considered at this point, although it's possible that will become an option if Wright doesn't recover as quickly as hoped. The Mets will roll with Wilmer Flores, Matt Reynolds and Ty Kelly at third base while Wright is on the shelf.

Wright ranks 109th with a 0.83 nERD. We currently project him to hit .255/.343/.426 with a .338 wOBA in 108 plate appearances over the remainder of the season.
