Slumping Brian McCann takes a seat Thursday for Yankees
New York Yankees catcher Brian McCann is out of the starting lineup Thursday against the Detroit Tigers.
McCann sat against a left-hander Tuesday in Toronto (J.A. Happ) and he'll do the same against Tigers southpaw Matt Boyd. He's been mired in a deep slump, logging just one hit over his last 23 at-bats. Austin Romine will fill in behind the plate.
McCann's slump has dropped his slash to .224/.321/.401 with seven home runs and a .317 wOBA in 168 plate appearances this season. Our models currently project him to hit .232/.320/.413 with 13 home runs and a .316 wOBA over the remaining course of the season.
