Hunter Pence to the Giants' disabled list with severe hamstring strain

San Francisco Giants outfielder Hunter Pence was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right hamstring.

What It Means:

Pence pulled up lame while trying to leg out a slow grounder to third base in the fourth inning Wednesday and Giants manager Bruce Bochy acknowledged Thursday that it's a severe hamstring strain. We won't see Pence again for at least a month, and it could be much longer than that. He's due to be examined by a specialist Thursday afternoon. Jarrett Parker will take over as the Giants' primary right fielder for now.

Pence played in just 52 games last season, and he's dealing with injuries again in 2016. He's produced when he's been on the field, posting a .374 wOBA with seven bombs and 36 RBI's in 208 plate appearances this season.
