Pittsburgh Pirates infeilder Oneil Cruz has been diagnosed with a fractured ankle on Sunday.
Cruz had a scary incident at the plate after running into White Sox catcher Seby Zavala. Now, the team has announced the promising young shortstop will be sidelined for an indefinite amount of time with an ankle fracture. For now, expect a heavy dose of Rodolfo Castro in the infield for Pittsburgh.
In 40 plate appearances this season, Cruz has a .250 batting average with a .750 OPS, 1 home run, 7 runs, 4 RBI and 3 stolen bases.
