The Philadelphia Phillies acquired utility man Jimmy Paredes from the Toronto Blue Jays for cash considerations.
Paredes was designated for assignment by Toronto earlier this week despite posting an .886 OPS over his first 17 plate appearances. He could see a decent amount of playing time in the Philadelphia outfield and is probably worth a look in deeper fantasy leagues.
Paredes hit 10 home runs and posted a .315 wOBA in 384 plate appearances in 2015 for the Baltimore Orioles. Our models currently project him to hit .261/.323/.409 with three home runs and a .312 wOBA over the remaining course of the season.
