New York Yankees outfielder Dustin Ackley will undergo season-ending surgery to repair the torn labrum in his right shoulder.
Ackley suffered the torn labrum (and a shoulder dislocation) on a slide Sunday against the Tampa Bay Rays. The 28-year-old is a definite non-tender candidate.
Ackley will finish up 2016 with a .148 batting average and .390 OPS in 70 appearances at the plate. He logged four RBI's on nine hits (all singles).
