Caleb Joseph placed on Orioles' 15-day disabled list
The Baltimore Orioles placed catcher Caleb Joseph on the 15-day disabled list with a testicular injury.
Ouch. Joseph took a foul ball off a very sensitive area on Monday and had to be taken to the hospital after the game. It's unclear how much time he'll need to miss, but the O's have called up Francisco Pena to take his spot as Matt Wieters' backup.
Joseph is slashing just .182/.239/.212 in limited playing time (71 plate appearances) this season, without a home run and a .208 wOBA. We currently project him to hit .227/.298/.372 with 5 home runs and a .288 wOBA over the remaining course of the season.
