Padres giving Derek Norris the day off against Seattle
San Diego Padres catcher Derek Norris is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Seattle Mariners.
What It Means:
He'll take a seat for the day game. Christian Bethancourt will start behind the plate and catch right-hander James Shields.
Norris has struggled to a .179/.238/.331 slash (which would be career lows across the board) while logging five home runs and 10 RBI's in 164 plate appearances for the year.
