Trevor Larnach cleaning up for Twins' opener

Minnesota Twins outfielder Trevor Larnach is starting in left field and batting cleanup on Opening Day against right-hander Zack Greinke and the Kansas City Royals.

What It Means:

Alex Kirilloff (wrist) and Jorge Polanco (knee) are both starting the season on the injured list, so Larnach will have an opportunity to take advantage. Max Kepler is in the leadoff spot and Byron Buxton is batting third. Kyle Farmer will be available off the bench. Here's the full Twins lineup: Kepler (RF), Carlos Correa (SS), Buxton (DH), Larnach (LF), Jose Miranda (3B), Nick Gordon (2B), Joey Gallo (1B), Christian Vázquez (C), Michael A. Taylor (CF).

numberFire's models project Larnach ($2,200) for 10.3 FanDuel points on Opening Day. Buxton ($3,500) is the highest-projected hitter at 14.4 FanDuel points and Gallo ($2,400) is our fourth-best point-per-dollar value. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Twins have the second-highest implied total (4.60) on the board today. Greinke registered a woeful 4.84 SIERA and 12.5% strikeout rate in 2022.
