White Sox's Yoan Moncada (back) cleared for Opening Day
Chicago White Sox third baseman Yoan Moncada (back) has been cleared for Opening Day on Thursday versus left-hander Framber Valdez and the Houston Astros.
Moncada had been dealing with some lower back stiffness in recent days, but he's good to go for the start of the season. The 27-year-old is coming off a career-worst campaign where he slashed .212/.273/.353 with 12 homers and 51 RBI over 433 plate appearances in 104 games.
numberFire's models project Moncada for 8.1 FanDuel points on Opening Day. For the season, he's projected to record a .227 batting average and a .681 OPS, with 14 homers, 21 doubles, 56 RBI, and 50 runs across 490 plate appearances.
