Carlos Gonzalez homers in third straight game for Rockies

Colorado Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez doubled and smacked a two-run homer in Monday's loss to the Cincinnati Reds.

What It Means:

Both hits were to center field, and they were both lasers, with the longball coming in the ninth inning off of Reds closer Tony Cingrani. Gonzalez also walked twice on the day. He has been inconsistent this season, sandwiching a couple homer binges around the longest homerless drought of his career. The good news is Gonzalez is in the midst of one of the good streaks as he's gone deep in three straight games and four out of his last five.

The 30-year-old is now hitting .304/.348/.510 with a .365 wOBA in 207 plate appearances this season. He's scored 34 runs while also tallying nine jacks and 20 RBI's.
