Blake Sabol makes Giants' Opening Day roster
San Francisco Giants catcher/outfielder Blake Sabol made the team's Opening Day roster and could start against the New York Yankees on Thursday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports speculates.
Sabol was the hottest hitter in spring training this season, leading all batters with 1.125 OPS in his 43 plate appearances with the Giants. Between his fiery offseason performance and injuries to some other Giants, Sabol will begin the season on the Giants' roster, and could even make starts in the outfield with Joey Bart at catcher.
Sabol made the most of his opportunities this spring, ripping 3 home runs with 10 RBI in his 43 plate appearances while drawing 11 walks to 13 strikeouts.
