Jason Hammel exits Cubs' game with apparent leg injury
Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Jason Hammel exited Monday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers after two innings with an apparent injury to his right leg.
Hammel felt some discomfort between innings and was unable to continue after attempting to throw some warm-up pitches. It looked like he was dealing with a cramp, but the Cubs should provide an update soon. Hammel tossed two scoreless innings before exiting. Travis Wood took over to begin the top of the third.
Hammel remains at 6-1 on the season. He's spun a 2.09 ERA across 56 innings (10 starts) while recording a 22.12 strikeout percentage.
