Yankees' Dustin Ackley (shoulder) could undergo surgery
New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi said Monday that first baseman/outfielder Dustin Ackley (shoulder) could require surgery.
Ackley, who was placed on the disabled list Monday, was diagnosed with a torn labrum in his right shoulder. Either way, he's facing a lengthy absence. There should be more clarity on his status in the coming days.
At this moment, we project Ackley for 173 more plate appearances this season, with a slash line of .256/.324/.481, seven home runs and a .340 wOBA. At this point, though, any projection remains somewhat uncertain.
