San Francisco Giants relief pitcher Sergio Romo (elbow) won't be activated from the disabled list before Thursday.
Romo experienced some fatigue after making back-to-back rehab appearances last week at Triple-A Sacramento. But it doesn't sound like a major setback, and Romo is actually slated to pitch this Monday and Tuesday at High-A San Jose before possibly returning to the Giants on Thursday. The setup man has been on the disabled list since April 14 with a flexor muscle strain in his right arm.
Romo is coming off of a strong 2015 campaign in which he posted a 2.17 SIERA, 30.9 percent strikeout rate and 4.4 percent walk rate, all decidedly better than his career averages. He has given up one hit (a one-run homer) in 3 1/3 innings this season.
