Twins will be 'cautious' with Byron Buxton (knee) during spring training
According to president of baseball operations Derek Falvey, the Minnesota Twins "will take it slow" with outfielder Byron Buxton (knee) during spring training.
While Minnesota's star outfielder has recovered from arthroscopic knee surgery, the Twins want to take a safe approach with the 29-year old in the early portion of spring training. ""We'll be cautious as Buxton kind of ramps back," said Falvey when asked about his status. "We're going to take it slow in the early going. What day he's going full tilt, aggressive, that's TBD. But there's nothing he's coming in with that's an issue."
Expect the Twins to remain cautious with Buxton in an attempt to keep him healthy throughout the season. In yearly fantasy leagues per fantasysp.com, Buxton's current average draft position currently stands in the 15th round after he produced a 16.4% barrel rate and a .358 expected weighted on-base average in 340 at-bats last season.
