Rangers sign outfielder Robbie Grossman to 1-year deal
The Texas Rangers have signed outfielder Robbie Grossman to a one-year contract on Friday.
Grossman is on track for a platoon role in left field with most of his playing time likely occurring against left-handed pitching after the veteran produced a weighted runs created plus rating (wRC+) 57% above league average in 122 at bats last season. With Grossman now on board in Texas, expect Brad Miller to operate in left when the Rangers face right-handers.
In 286 at-bats during the 2022 season, Grossman accounted for a 3.5% barrel rate and a .283 expected weighted on-base average.
