Boston's Mookie Betts (rest) out Thursday, Jackie Bradley Jr. leading off
Boston Red Sox center fielder Mookie Betts will take a night off Thursday against the Colorado Rockies.
It's his first absence in 88 games dating back to last season. Chris Young will start in right field, and Blake Swihart is in left field Thursday versus the Rockies. Jackie Bradley Jr. will man the leadoff spot, making him an even more attractive play. Boston has the day's highest implied runs total.
Betts is slashing .277/.318/.490 with nine home runs, eight stolen bases, a .346 wOBA and 41 runs scored, the latter of which lead all of baseball. Our models currently project him to hit .286/.341/.465 with 14 home runs, 19 steals and a .350 wOBA over the remaining course of the season.
