Oakland Athletics pitcher Zach Neal was pounded for seven runs in four innings by the Mariners on Wednesday in his first major league start.
Neal is a solid Triple-A pitcher, but that's probably all he is right now. He's likely going to be sent back to Nashville in the immediate future.
The 27-year-old recorded a 2.53 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, 21 punch outs and four walks in 42 2/3 innings this season at the Triple-A level.
