Diamondbacks giving Welington Castillo the day off
Arizona Diamondbacks catcher Welington Castillo will get a day of rest Thursday.
What It Means:
Chris Herrmann is starting at catcher and batting sixth in the matinee versus Pittsburgh Pirates' right-hander Gerrit Cole. Castillo should return to the lineup for Friday's series opener against the San Diego Padres.
Castillo has an .810 OPS, seven home runs and 20 RBI's in 151 plate appearances this season. Our models project him to slash .244/.310/.444 in 326 appearances at the plate for the remainder of the year.
