Alex Wood scratched from Dodgers' start Friday
Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Alex Wood has been scratched from his scheduled start Friday against the New York Mets due to triceps tightness.
Dodgers' top pitching prospect Julio Urias is going to get the call from Triple-A Oklahoma City to fill in. Wood hopes to jump back into the rotation for Monday's series opener at Wrigley Field in a matchup with the Chicago Cubs. He was terrific on his last turn, racking up 13 strikeouts last Sunday against the San Diego Padres.
Wood is 1-3 in nine appearances this year, earning a 4.03 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 25.23 strikeout percentage across 51 1/3 total innings.
