Reds call up Daniel Wright for debut versus Dodgers

The Cincinnati Reds purchased the contract of pitcher Daniel Wright from Triple-A Louisville.

What It Means:

Wright will make his major league debut Tuesday night against the Los Angeles Dodgers and could stick around for a while if things go well. He was sporting a brilliant 0.79 ERA and 0.64 WHIP with 32 punch outs through 34 innings this season between Double-A and Triple-A.

Wright posted a 1.75 FIP in 20 innings in Double-A this season before being promoted to Triple-A, where he then recorded a 2.11 FIP in 14 innings. The Reds' starting rotation has the worst xFIP in baseball (4.88), so they can use all the help they can get.
