Detroit Tigers closer Francisco Rodriguez notched his 13th save of the season with a perfect ninth inning in Monday's win over the Philadelphia Phillies.
K-Rod was protecting a one-run lead, although he got to face Andres Blanco, David Lough and Cesar Hernandez, netting a couple strikeouts and a flyout.
The veteran closer hasn't given up a hit in five appearances and is unscored upon in 10 of his last 11 games. He is sporting a 22.9 percent strikeout rate. We project Rodriguez to record a 2.85 ERA with 23 more saves over the remainder of the year.
