Royals' Mike Moustakas day-to-day with knee contusion

Kansas City Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas is day-to-day with a knee contusion.

What It Means:

Moustakas presumably banged up the knee in a collision with Alex Gordon on Sunday. Cheslor Cuthbert has returned to the active roster now that Gordon is on the disabled list, but Whit Merrifield is playing third base Monday. The 27-year-old should be back in there soon.

Moustakas has recorded a .341 wOBA with seven moon shots and 13 RBI's this season. He has a .240/.301/.500 slash in 113 plate appearances on the year.
