Mets place Lucas Duda (back) on 15-day disabled list
The New York Mets placed first baseman Lucas Duda on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 21, with a back injury.
Duda has been bothered by back discomfort for much of May and will now be shut down for at least the next two weeks. Eric Campbell is starting at first base for the Mets on Monday night against the Washington Nationals. Ty Kelly, called up Monday from Triple-A Las Vegas, could also factor into the mix at first.
Duda is slashing just .231/.297/.431 with a .312 wOBA in 145 plate appearances this season, but has been driving the ball well. He has seven home runs and a .200 Isolated Power. Campbell entering the lineup is a significant drop-off, as he owns a career .291 wOBA and a .089 Isolated Power.
