Avisail Garcia sitting out as White Sox face Astros
Chicago White Sox designated hitter/outfielder Avisail Garcia is not in the starting lineup Thursday against the Houston Astros.
Garcia is just getting a routine day off. Jerry Sands will serve as the designated hitter and hit seventh. Garcia struggled in April (.214 average) but has bounced back by hitting .319 with a .373 on-base percentage in May.
Garcia is hitting .256/.323/.427 in 130 plate appearances this season. He holds a .331 wOBA while hitting four home runs and driving in 15 on the year.
