Chicago White Sox infielder Brett Lawrie is not in the White starting lineup Thursday against the Houston Astros.
It will be his first absence of the season. Lawrie could use a day to clear his head. He's been struggling lately with 13 strikeouts and only three hits in his last 25 at-bats. Carlos Sanchez will take over at second base and bat second.
For the year, Lawrie is hitting .252/.341/.435 with five homers, two steals and 16 RBI's over 167 plate appearances.
