Toronto's Brett Cecil (latissimus dorsi) out at least a month
Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Brett Cecil has been diagnosed with a torn latissimus dorsi muscle and will be out at least a month.
Cecil was placed on the 15-day disabled list May 15 with what was originally labeled a left triceps strain. Further testing done this week revealed a more serious issue. The lefty reliever will likely remain on the shelf through mid-June and possibly into July.
Cecil owns a 5.23 ERA and 17.31 strikeout percentage in 10 1/3 innings pitched this season.
