Texas Rangers reliever Shawn Tolleson has been informed that he is being moved out of the Rangers' ninth-inning role.
"It wasn't anything that surprised me," the right-hander said Wednesday after blowing his fourth save of the season on Tuesday night via a walkoff grand slam by Khris Davis.
Sam Dyson is expected to be the next one in line, although his numbers aren't closer-like, either. He's sitting on a 3.17 SIERA, 17.8 percent strikeout rate and 8.2 percent walk rate.
