Indians' Michael Brantley (shoulder) gets an anti-inflammatory infection
Cleveland Indians outfielder Michael Brantley was given an anti-inflammatory injection for his right shoulder on Tuesday.
Cleveland placed Brantley on the 15-day disabled list on May 14, retroactive to May 10, after he complained of fatigue in his surgically-repaired shoulder. A checkup exam with Brantley's surgeon Tuesday went smoothly and the hope is he will feel well enough to return when first eligible. Marlon Byrd, Rajai Davis, and Jose Ramirez have been seeing action in left field.
Brantley is slashing .231/.279/.282 in 43 plate appearances so far this season. His wOBA is only .241 during that time period, so a stint on the DL will hopefully be good for him to get back to 100 percent.
