Oakland Athletics pitcher Henderson Alvarez felt soreness in his surgically-repaired shoulder during his most recent minor league rehab start on Sunday.
He left Monday's rehab game an inning earlier than expected and is being examined by team doctors. It's still unclear how big a setback this will be.
Alvarez hasn't played a significant amount since 2014, when he posted a 2.65 ERA with a 3.70 SIERA in 30 games.
