Rays place Logan Forsythe on disabled list
The Tampa Bay Rays placed second baseman Logan Forsythe on the 15-day disabled list with a hairline fracture in his left shoulder blade.
Forsythe was hit by a Felix Hernandez pitch in his back on Friday night and apparently the injury is going to force him to miss some time. Tim Beckham will likely become the every day starter at second base while Forsythe is on the mend from this hairline fracture.
In 107 at bats this season, Forsythe is slashing .308/.398/.523, with a wOBA of .399. His 4 home runs and 14 extra base hits will be missed by Tampa Bay while he is healing.
