Tampa Bay Rays utility-man Christian Bethancourt is not starting in Wednesday's game against the Boston Red Sox.
Bethancourt will watch from the bench after Rene Pinto was picked as Tampa Bay's starting catcher.
Per Baseball Savant on 239 batted balls this season, Bethancourt has accounted for a 11.7% barrel rate and a .318 expected weighted on-base average.
