Detroit Tigers second baseman Jonathan Schoop is not starting in Tuesday's first game against the Seattle Mariners.
Schoop will take a break after Harold Castro was moved to second base and Spencer Torkelson was positioned at first.
Per Baseball Savant on 372 batted balls this season, Schoop has recorded a 4.8% barrel rate and a .270 expected weighted on-base average.
